A book of prayers to the Holy Face of Jesus

Good or Bad

No Fence Straddling! Do Good And Help Others!

I have heard countless time that the idea of Christianity as to “just be a good person”!

Not being “bad” however is not the same as being “good”

Many people view “good” as “do no harm!”

Well, folks, hate to burst your bubble but the “do no harm” philosophy is just not being a bad person!

The differentiator if you’re still confused is one definition is to make inaction not to “hurt” another.  The other is to take action to “help” another!  Big Difference!   One does no damage while the other builds and reinforces and heals!

Our Lord’s attitude towards this I think is best described in Revelations 3:16:

“So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth.”

I guess there is no room for conscientious observers in God’s eyes!

Time to take active action in being a “good person!”

“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.  But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’  Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?”  James 2:14-26.

It doesn’t take much! It could be as simple as praying for someone else! It could be so much more depending on how “good” you want to become! Here’s to Greatness!
