Materials of God’s creation are used to reveal truth and see beyond,
A gateway to grace,
A means to worship God in His glory through imagery!
When you see a picture of Christ, do you worship the frame?
You worship ever stronger the God represented in the beauty the imagery represents!
When you hold two sticks of wood and position them in the sign of the Cross do you worship the wood?
Separate them and they can be cast in the fire for a worldly purpose only!
But positioned they represent a revealed truth of the sign it represents uniting us closer to Christ!
When you peer out a window and witness the splendor of Gods creation the birds, the flowers, the sun, the blue sky’s and the pillow clouds do you worship the window? No it becomes a gateway to assist us in our limited understanding to see beyond what we don’t physically experience through our other senses! The eyes are the corridor to the soul and we allow the beauty of artistic creation to engage us in igniting the eyes of Faith what time and distance and circumstance has separated!
Prayer works in this way as a stimulus to grace, as incense from the heart being lifted up to more perfectly unite us to God in His glory and splendor! God created creation for this purpose!
To stimulate union, Thanksgiving , blessing, prayerful communication!
