Our very breath belongs to God
Grasp the fullness of the frailty of your very life and your absolute dependence on Gods gifts and His grace
Jesus died of suffocation so that the breath of the Holy Spirit could be reignited in souls
But we must place ourselves in emptiness of the frail vessels in which we exist, devoid of anything worldly, and in openness to the fullness of the Spirit that fills us!
Breathe in Me O God your Divine Spirit
The Heart and lungs are beginning and ending of our bodily existence
Prayer is the very foundation of our spirtual existence
God gives us gifts and graces
But he seeks union
Don’t attach yourselves to yourselves,
Nor to the gifts but surrender and trust in intimate union
It is the heartfelt prayers, and the breath of the Holy Spirit that creates it and keeps it,
when the body dies and the eternal soul lives on!
St. Augustine’s Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit That my thought may be all holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit That my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit That I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit To defend all that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit That I always may be holy.
Amen.
